Buying engagement is a marketing expense, so treat it like one. If you cannot measure what a campaign achieved, you cannot tell whether to repeat it.
Define the goal first
- Social proof – a new page or product launch that needs credibility.
- Reach – getting content in front of more real users.
- Conversions – clicks, sign-ups or sales.
Metrics that actually matter
- Cost per retained unit = total spend / units remaining after 30 days.
- Organic lift – change in organic reach and engagement in the 2–4 weeks after the campaign.
- Engagement rate – likes and comments relative to followers. Followers alone with no engagement can hurt this.
- Downstream conversions – use UTM links in your bio to track visits and sales.
A simple tracking sheet
For each order record: service ID, quantity, cost, start count, completion date, count after 7 and 30 days, and organic reach before and after. Your order history already stores the start count and remains.
Interpreting results
If retention is poor, switch to refill services. If retention is good but there is no organic lift, the content itself needs work – engagement can amplify good content but cannot fix weak content.
